Get help with your computer, even without an in-person appointment!

If you're having a problem with your PC, Laptop, Mac, or Chromebook, it can be frustrating. The Brocker can help you with most of those problems. Sometimes, we don't even need an in-person appointment! The Brocker uses remote support technologies to remotely access your computer from our office temporarily, so we can try and solve the problem. The following article explains how to set up remote support if asked to do so by a technical support agent.

Please do not set up remote support unless asked to do so by an agent. If you need remote support, or any other technical support, please contact The Brocker.

How to set up the remote support program:

To set up the remote support program, open the Google Chrome web browser. If you do not have Chrome, click here to download it. Then, go to https://bit.ly/brockerremote. You should see a section on the page that says "Get Support". In that section, there should be a download button, or an "add extension" button. Click the download button. Next, a file may install onto your computer. Once that is done, the download button disappears and in its place, there should be an "Accept and Install" button. Click that button, and then click yes, or accept, for the following download windows. You may also receive a prompt to click OK and enter your computer password. Please do so, and then continue through and click the affirmative for all of the prompts. Once the program is installed, the button in the "Get Support" section will then change into a button that says "Generate Code". If you see that button, then you're done instaling the program. Continue to the next section to allow the technical support agent to access the computer.

How to allow the agent to access the computer:

To allow the technical support agent to access your computer, you need to provide them the secure, temporary code. That grants the technician temporary access to your computer, so that they can try and fix any problems. When the technician closes the support session, the code expires. Each code also expires if a support session is not activated within 5 minutes, for added security.  Make sure to only give this code to The Brocker or people you trust, because anyone with this code could have full access to remotely control your computer until someone closes the support session.
To allow The Brocker to access your computer, please call The Brocker. The technician will help guide you through the following process and answer any questions. Make sure you are on the "Get Support" section on the BrockerRemote website. The first step is to click the "Generate Code" button. Then, tell the support agent the code that appears on the screen. Then, there may be a pop up that says something like "Allow [support agent's email address] to access this computer." Click "share" or "yes". Then, The Brocker can see your screen and remotely control your computer so they can help solve the problem. When our agent is finished, they will close the remote support session and will no longer have access to your computer, unless you repeat this process again and tell the agent the new code that appears.
